Quarantine Projects

During the spring and summer of 2020 I experimented with my designing and sewing abilities only using what I could find around my parents house. At the time, I had no dress form, no pattern making skills, and a sewing machine from when I was 12.

toy car top

I had an old skirt from Kate Spade sitting in my closet for years. While I loved the fabric the fit of the skirt was never quite right. In an effort to re-use the fabric and both keep it out of a land fill and in my closet, I took apart the skirt and remade it into a new top.

yellow tank

I picked up this fabric from a flea market a few summers ago. I loved the pattern, and the color of the fabric. I decided a criss cross open back would accent the tiny triangle esq pattern going throughout the fabric.

patched up jeans

I picked up these jeans when I was working in retail during the summer of 2019. I couldn't pass up the employee discount. However, very quickly I got bored of the fit and the location of the rips. I also had some old jeans that I loved to the point of them falling apart. So I combined the two and now have a pair of jeans that I love to wear.
