For as long as I have been able to hold a pencil in my hand I have been creating things. From small doodles in the corners of my notebooks to fully finished garments, nothing makes me happier than creating art. Taking a project from thumbnails to final work, no matter the medium is extraordinarily rewarding.
While creating collections or garments, I pull inspiration from storytelling, music, and the tiniest details of people's lives. I dive deep into the pages of my sketchbook to flush out all potential avenues of an idea. My background in fine art painting gives me a unique understanding of color that I weave throughout my process pages and into the final fabric selections. Fashion allows me the opportunity to affect the receiver of my creations and include them in my process on any given day. I have always viewed fashion as a sort of body armor and heraldry against the world, and I intend that the wearer of my garments feels the same. My clothes become part of their statements of individuality and the creative cycle continues.
